Re: Jake walters
Haven’t heard otherwise. He has signed a LOI and no mention of him wanting out has been heard. He’s local, so I think that if he had said otherwise it would have been reported by the local news.

Re: Jake walters
Not that it necessarily means anything but all three of our recruits for next year have posted to twitter positively about hiring Steele. Thats probably a good sign.

Re: Jake walters
I'd guess Xavier is very safe with him. Xavier was by far the best program to offer him.
This kid is going to be a big time project. I believe in their state title win at cov cath he had 6 points and 5 rebounds as a 7 footer. That's not to trash him but I think it's going to be a couple years before he contributes.

Having watched him play a couple of times, I would agree. However, I will also say that his teammates didn’t seem to be look8mg for him either. Now that could be because they didn’t think that he was a good option or it could be because the coach had the team running a different type of offense. It did look to me that at times that he was in position to score easily, but he never got the ball. They won a state championship, and beat Ohio big school champ Moeller along the way, but it still seemed that they played an offense that wasn’t geared toward going though him.lionelchalmers0 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 04, 2018 1:22 pmI'd guess Xavier is very safe with him. i'd let Jennings have a summer/fall with him and see what can happen. you remember how he helped Stainbrook drop weight/get stronger.

I agree that he's a project. But you can't fake size, and once they get him in the weight room and work with him on his moves, you never know.
Also...that CovCath team was so loaded, he didn't have to score a lot.
