Love for this board to chime in with some TRUTHS. or as close to truth as you could possibly have on some issues i'd like addressed. if you have no idea, then don't answer with speculation. if you have thoughts, that's fine, but don't answer with the "i know this is what happened" if you don't know.

here's a few ???'s:

1. did Xavier offer Mack the 3+ million or whatever offer was reported? I realize Christopher said in the presser that some offer was made to Mack but he wouldn't give a number.

2. Has Mack known he was taking this job ever since Pitino was fired? has this always been THE job he would leave for and when this all came to light (Pitino fired, knew they weren't going to retain Padgett, etc), was this a done deal all season? would he have still taken this job if we were playing this weekend or would U of L have gone to the next guy?

3. Did Mack take this because he just doesn't think he can get X to a FF or was it really about the $$$ and his wife's hometown?

4. Did Mack not recruit as hard for next year because he knew he was leaving?

I can't think of anything else right now but if anyone wants to add ?'s they have to this so we can try and get them answered, that would be great.

He was certainly recruiting for UL before leaving.

If there is any truth about recruiting for UL while not yet employed, then this is war. I would inject as much uncertainty in the minds of recruits who we have recruited by asking them to think about NCAA sanctions along with their forfeited titles. Do parents really want their kids entertained by strippers? Don’t forget I said parents, not the kids themselves.

Considering multiple players got offers from Louisville tonight less than two hours after Mack was named I'm gonna assume the recruiting rumor was true.

i get that Mack was recruiting these guys to X and then turns around and offers them to U of L. i get that. but what if you're Steele and you become head coach at X? you recruited these guys to X and your boss turns around and takes them from you (if they decide to go to U of L, that is)

i don't know how i feel about that. it just sucks is all i can say.

Yep. My memory is getting fuzzy but didn't this happen with Matta and guys like Oden.

It's a dog eats dog business... And X is wearing the Milk Bone biscuit shorts today... NC, Duke, KY, Kansas and Nova didn't get there being nice guys... X next coach is just gonna have to deal with U of L's taking advantage of the situation... Dan

i guess the recruits don't think UL will get any probation.
What do they know that we don't know...

Many people lobby for the next job within an organization they work for and or at the next organization they want to go to next all the time...in every business. If if CM said he wanted to go to only UL or Notre Dame or X, Y, Z long ago, then he was telling possible future employers where he was willing to go to next. Other coaches in other sports have done this type of broadcasting before. Could UL or another school or the next employer notify a coach in advance that their school's job was coming open a year or months in advance while a season was in progress???of course. I do not know who knows what and when etc...but if any coach knows he is leaving school X and recruits for his current employer school on their employment dime and expenses $$$$....with the idea he will take the recruits to the new employer when he leaves...then in my mind they are unethical and basically stealing employment dollars from their current employer. Could they not be sued for $$$$ of employment theft??

my question is there a buy out? After all Mack was under contract till 2022 or something like that.
