Fla. St 2017 vs 2018 bov scores

What a difference a year makes. Box score 2017 main players - Tre - FG 8-14, 3pt 3-5, Ft 10-14, reb 6, A 3, to 2, 29 points. Jones FG 6-7, Ft 1-1, reb. 4 , a 1, to 1, 13 points. J.P. FG 4-10, 3pt 2-3, Reb 2, a 5,to 1, points 10, Gates FG 5-6, 3pt 4-5, reb 5, a 2, Points 14. 2018 Tre FG 2-8, 3pt 1-3, FT 3-4, reb 1, a 1, TO 5, points 8. J.P. FG 6-8, 3pt 2-3, FT 3-6, reb 5, a 2, TO 4, Points 17. So our two players that are usually our main players (2017) scored 39 points and had only 3 TOs. In 2018 they had 25 points combined and had NINE TOs. XU had 5 turnovers in the last four minutes one by Goodin, three by Tre, and one by J.P. ( a charge). Tough to win with those numbers. However, I still think we had a GREAT season. Go Xavier!

Completely unfair to lump Macura's numbers in with Bluiett for the FSU game. Yes Macura made some errors but with him on the floor X built a lead. When he sat, X lost the lead. Tre was an absolute nightmare on the floor. He likely played himself out of the draft as he was exposed for his many weaknesses.
Macura deserved better than going out in round 2. It was a stupid charge but given he was called for 3 fouls he didn't commit, and not granted FTs on at least 1 other play he was obviously fouled on, I can forgive his errors.

Madness - I am not condemning J.P. or any other player. And I understand that J.P. DID NOT foul ( he had a clean block and a clean steal) and I realize that Naji was hurting. It just shows the difference from one year to the next. I think XU had a GREAT year and I am not placing the blame for the lost on anyone except MAYBE the refs. Go Xavier!
