Wishing him the best of luck. . I know he’s had back problems but, hopefully those are under control and he can get back to coaching. I really thought he wouldn’t coach again

Interesting article from the Cleveland Plain Dealer - basically Thad has to show that is "looking for work" per his contract terms with OSU.

"Section 5.2a of Matta's contract, though, stipulates that "Coach is required to mitigate Ohio State's obligations by making reasonable and diligent efforts to obtain a comparable employment position as soon as practicable." Examples of comparable employment include a broadcasting job, an assistant or head coaching job in the pros or a college head coaching job in the Big Ten, ACC, SEC, Big East, Big 12, Pac-12, Atlantic 10, Conference USA or Mountain West. (That language was likely amended after the fact to also include the American Athletic Conference, which began play in 2013)."

I don't Thad as an SEC guy but who knows.
SEC schools are about football with UK being the exception.
Of course, that is what he had at OSU so maybe he is OK with that.

AH - so is your cryptic response about the possibility of Chris going to Louisville and Thad coming back to coach Xavier?
Don't know what U of L's timeline is but I don't think they have named a permanent president or AD at this point.
One would think that those positions need to be filled before hiring a basketball coach.
I think Padgett had some support but that went out the window with the UVA game.
But for now, let's just survive and advance - to the Final 4.

But each was delayed by over an hr. I have another one I sent at 12:04, and it’s still in my inbox. I think I may re-consider what I originally nixed when Mman said we should start sending messages with carrier pigeons versus the web. If nothing else, it adds a personal touch.
