vacating wins. dumbest punishment ever by the NCAA.
so i guess Michigan should be celebrating on campus, burning couches, etc as they are now the "de facto" National Champs for 2013.
congrats Izzo and Co.!

This is only a result of the "paying" for hookers...........the most recent "paying" for recruits is still an open investigation.
I seriously cant believe Mack would even consider UL.........knowing all of the BS that has gone on there in the last 5-10 years.

While it appears that many teams will now be affected, everything that i have heard does not point to Louisville getting probation but more fines and losing scholarships. Who knows what the final determination will be. I just hope X isn't involved in any way and if Mack leaves, they consider Travis Steele and Danny Hurley as coaches and not Pat Kelsey.

It is Mack's decision, not ours, but I do not expect him to go to Louisville. The only reason to go there will be money $$$$ and all the side benefits...and it would be a 10 year deal. No one is going there for the short run.

Do they have to return all the money for each game played in the NCAA during their title run? That's the only way to vacate. Plus return NCAA money from other years they were sanctioned.

Vacating wins is a slap on the wrist.Take away scholarships, post season appearances and money if you want to really penalize them

They had to return all money earned during their postseason runs between those years

News reference that Louisville President Postel estimates the amount of money to be returned is $600K. I thought NCAA money was much more than this especially for the Louisville's deep runs in the BE. Usually such money gets divided between all the conference teams (BE had 15 teams) ... but still I thought it would be way more. Maybe they get to subtract the very higher and unusual expenses they had during those years??!
Good article that describes the NCAA basketball distribution fund (
