Musketeer Madness

I have put together a J P Macura Costume consisting of Xavier BB Shirt printed “J P 55,” a light brown wig with cowlick, & a meme sign with JP’s face to be waved during the games by a XU student who sits prominently in the front of the student cheering section. We need volunteers who will wear the costume a the last 2 home games! The idea is to induce TV cameras to focus on J P’s image generating attention to our very charismatic SPARKPLUG, not instigator.
This could be a lot of fun & create more media attention for this year’s Cinderella team, the 2018 Xavier Musketeers.

Hey, what a Great Idea, Sonoma Muskie! Be sure to send a costume to Madness31. He loves to "dress up" and it will kick-start his "madhood."

JP gets great mileage in BE. As I was watching Marquette play someone the other day I noted the opponent student section has big head photos of JP when Marquette was shooting while they did the gator chop.

Having been a Xavier fan since 1964 I feel this year’s team is the best in the past 52 years. An inspirational player like J P only comes along fairly rarely. I just thought we ought to enjoy the ride while supporting him. It is great to see him “get under people’s skin.”
Solution: Grow thicker, tougher skin OR get your own J P Macura!

This team is not the best team yet. This team is certainly among the top 3 to 5 ever. If this team cannot at least make the Elite 8....then they are NOT the best. Making the FF would assure them being the best. Elite 8 makes them among the top 3.

It is a matter of opinion if this is the best Xavier team ever. Obviously I think it is. Whether a given year’s team makes round of 8 or the FF is another parameter but not necessarily objective since the quality of the NCAA field varies from year to year.
I just like this team because they have deep, balanced talent & are fun to watch, especially JP! We’re splitting hairs. Remember these are the good new days, especially compared to the 70’s & 80’s.
Please help me get a XU student to wear my silly costume to see if we can somehow induce the TV people to glamorize the Muskies! Maybe it could even recruiting. I know it is rather wacky but that’s what happens when. a Chicago guy spends 40 years in LA then pickles out in California Wine Country.

Edge cliff, I contacted Luke Feliciano, Xavier News Sports Editor, hoping he could get a student volunteer to take me up on this somewhat goofy idea. Hey, what are college athletics for if not a time for young people to have a little fun expressing their school spirit?!
If I get no takers I may have to make an impromptu trip to Cincy & then on to MSG in NYC!

Try to take a picture of somebody wearing the outfit. (In color of course) Then email the picture to Xavier Newswire. They could get it out to Cincinnati media.
Keep pitchin' The more exposure you get, the more likely you are to find a taker.
