Fans of Xavier are ecstatic because we (grads, students, faculty & fans) are in first place in the Big East are nationally rated higher than ever before in history.
All we need to do is beat ‘Nova, a team that has been ranked above us all year and already has bested us once this year. Then we play a Georgetown team, who has defeated Villanova and Duke recently, on their turf before coming home to meet Providence, the only other Big East that topped us in the first meeting this year. All of that will win the regular season title and who knows, at this time, which of these teams we’ll meet in the tournament. After three wins to take the Big East trophy home and then wait to see who will be our first partner at the Dance with the option of which others could fill out the card before bringing home the title of King of the Ball.
Piece of cake, is it not?
Let me see if I got this right.

Re: Let me see if I got this right.
Right a piece of cake. Not....never is , never was. Recently, each year 68 teams start the process and only FOUR reach the Final Four. That is about 6% of the 68 in the FF. 94% will not make the FF...a piece of cake to be in the FF. Is it hard to do??? Each team "in the FF" only has to beat 4 teams, and not play any of the other 64!!!! Win just 6 games to be the National Champion. Not such a big task....4 play in games, 32 games, 16 games, 8 games, 4 games, 2 games, 1 game....67 games...just play 6 games. No team plays all the 67 other teams. X just has to play 6 teams and win . Simple ..right??? lol

I think you have Georgetown confused with St JohnsShadow wrote: ↑Thu Feb 15, 2018 6:15 pmFans of Xavier are ecstatic because we (grads, students, faculty & fans) are in first place in the Big East are nationally rated higher than ever before in history.

I goofed - again. It should have read Then we play a Georgetown team, who has defeated twice the team that downed both Villanova and Duke recently on their turf, before coming home to meet Providence, the only other Big East that topped us in the first meeting this year. All of that will win the regular

If Xavier comes out on top as Big East champs they will have "earrrrrned it" as John Housman used to say in commercials years ago for Smith Barney.
They have to beat off the psychological Villanova monkey on their back.
Knock off a Gtown team at their place and who took them to OT at Cintas.
Beat the only other team to beat X this year in PC.
And then go on the road to beat DePaul who gave them all they can handle at Cintas and just spanked PC on their home court.

One can only hope the players have more confidence than some of you here. They should having won 24 of 27 games so far.
