I wanted to watch the game tonight but after a couple minutes I had to turn it off because Walton sucks as a color man. Might go back with the sound turned off.

Yeah I was thinking the same. Too much drugs at Dead shows.

UCLA goes into the McKale Center and upsets No. 13 Arizona, 82-74. Thomas Welsh with 11 points, 12 rebounds. Aaron Holiday led the charge for the Bruins with 17 points, 8 assists. All five Bruin starters scored in double figures. Zona looked like they were sleep walking this game and Sean didn't call a timeout in the last 2 minutes, the announcers speculated he didn't want the remaining fans to boo the players. Fans started leaving with 4 minutes to go and there were a few boos on a couple of the last possessions. Sean has to be frustrated with all the talent and they appear not to be listening to him

it really is very difficult to listen to Walton color commentate a game.

Really too bad as I think that this is one of the most talented teams. I had them pegged as an elite 8/Final 4 team.

SM has created expectations by advancing to the E-8 3 times in 8 years, after taking over a program who had 3 coaches in 3 years prior to his coming on board. If I was an AZ fan, I'd be disappointed as well. Other coaches have created expectations so achieving far less in that same span warrants erecting a statue.

I don't think he is the same coach when he was here, and think CM is a better coach, though their respective career accomplishments certainly don't support my view in any objective metric. SM's pack-line defense isn't as effective this year, yet he stubbornly doesn't change up. In all fairness, I've never seen a full game of AZ, but have seen large chunks of four or five. Last night, down by a dozen with 4 to go, he simply had his team fall back, while UCLA ate up 18 seconds before going into their offensive set. If I didn't know better, I would have thought Romar was calling the shots.

However, Mman, if their defense is poor, as you insinuate correctly, imo, what the hell does that make ours?

For the record, I'd love to play them this year. They have a great player in Ayton, a very good player in Trier, and a couple other good ones in their 7 foot big, and 2 guard. X is far more balanced, and Goodin would eat their 5-9 pg's lunch from start to finish. Mman, what do you think a minimum expectation should be for X's team if it ends up as a 1 or 2 seed as projected? Also, do you think we woefully underachieved in 15' as a 2 seed?

I think this team is poised for a FF4 run and has as good a chance as 99% of the teams in the country to end in up in the NC. Nova is a different animal, but with Boothe out for awhile, that definitely changes things. One other thing, my friend. When AZ went 17-1 after their horrendous showing in the tournament, where are all of your threads commenting on this? The only question is what would be a bigger nightmare for you? X underachieving in the tourney this year again, or AZ advancing further?

it's easy for me, as it is for most X fans I suspect. Enjoy the season my friend. Remember, SM was a coach at X, and then handed the keys to a Lexus (see what I did there) to CM, as several national coaches have opined. He ran it off the road a couple of times but is firmly on stable ground, with AH as his biggest fan.

first of all I never mentioned their D. That was Jeff's comment. I did think toward the end of the game they did not seem to be playing the type of D Sean wants whcih is why I said he must be frustrated.
