This has all the markings of a true shootout. If Stats hold true, they should make more 3 PT shots,
but XU should make more FT than they attempt.

Should be another fun game to watch.

In the game at Cintas, there were 51 3 point attempts - 27 by Creighton and 24 by X.
X made 11 and CU made 10.
CU's guards - Thomas and Foster - are both 6-3 and better match-ups for our guys - Q and Scruggs.
And their one big - Krampelj - is out for the season.
Basketball Jones didn't play in that game but SOM and KK combined for 24 points and 12 boards in 40 minutes of court time.
CU's bigs - Hegner and Krampelj - combined for 6 points and 8 boards. And both fouled out.
Got to think that the matchups are in X 's favor but it is still a road game and the CenturyLink Center will 17,000+
CU is 5-0 at home this year.

I don't care for it because I considerate it to be quite juvenile.

I love that nickname. I also liked "Too Tall Jones" and Mike "Pepperoni Piazza"!

i think it sounds dumb frankly, doesnt flow, and he is not a basketball was just curious if i missed something. and we fans can cetainy do better than basketball jones as a nickname for a basketball player. show some creativity.

well, I almost hesitate to even post this. But apparently there are many who sincerely have zero clue due to that Next-Gen or Millennial thing. This nickname is out of respect and devotion to the 1970's and hall of fame worthy comedian duo Cheech & Chong. Given Tyrique's beaming confidence and consistent upbeat demeanor, it seems only fitting that he be Xavier's "Basketball Jones" for all eternity.
I dare you to listen to this and not get the beat stuck in your head for days. I bet you will be humming this evening as you're getting ready for bed.
