Opionions on the Road Factor welcome here. What Pct of games do Road teams win in the BE vs other conferences ? Some coaches/teams have better road psyche. Jay Wright comes to mind. Is Nova better than other BE teams - or simply have great road game mentality. Yet Nova can struggle with Neutral Court Madness in the NCAA. In my opinion Road Blues include *shooting background variance from home * hostile opponents fans * adjusting to new surroundings (motels, arena, etc...) . These seem to be the main things. I'd list Referees way down as though Home Teams seem to draw more fouls, much of that is late game stuff with Road team trying to catch up. ps-wish we'd see some Road Reversals in BE play. In other words, the Road team wins both games between 2 teams.

Seems the bouncing of the ball off the floor on road could vary. Any truth to "tight or loose rims" or even backboards?

Well, we are 1-13 against Nova, PC and the Hall in the first 5 seasons in the Big East. After Saturday we'll either be 1-14 or 2-13 but I'm willing to try Santeria, Brujeria or some other form of medieval witchcraft to try to swing our luck.

Xavier's loss at Providence was what the Lakers announcers refer to as a "schedule"--or "scheduled"--loss: The way it was scheduled practically ensured a loss. The team arrived at its hotel at 6:30pm--then played an 11am game. (Did they practice in the arena?) In the NBA, the second of back-to-back games is probably lost, more so when the second one is a day game. Whether traveling east-to-west or west-to-east--across time zones--is another factor.

What is their record at the Cintas against us in the same period of time?

It is 8-4 with all 3 still due to play at Cintas this season. 4-0 against PC, 1-3 against Nova and 3-1 against the Hall.

As was mentioned, X is 1-13 on the road against Nova, PC and the Hall.
Butler, Creighton and Marquette - X is 7-6 with 2 games still against Creighton and Butler. X is 2-2 against those two and 3-2 against Marquette.
DePaul, Gtown and SJU - 9-3 with all 3 road games still to be played this year.
So far, X is 17-22 in road games in BE conference play or 43.6 winning pct.

Overall in the BE in 4+ years - road team winning pct is 41.2
So X is a little better than the average over that time frame.

Comparing BE to other conferences for the last 4+ years -
ACC - road teams winning % - 37.2
Big Ten - road teams winning % - 37.0
SEC - road teams winning % - 37.1
Pac 12 - road teams winning % is 33.6
Big 12 -road teams winning % is 34.4
Big 12 has a 10 team conference like the BE and everyone plays each other home and away, unlike the other conferences that have too many team to have a home and away schedule with every team in the conference.

Bottom line, at least in the top 6 conferences, it is easier in the BE to get a road win vs. any other conference.
X is great against 6 teams - 16 - 9 or 64% and awful against 3 teams - 1 - 13 or 7%.
