The rules say that they can determine that there is NO foul, after one was called on the floor. But that they can’t use the review to call a foul, after one was NOT called on the floor.
After seeing it reviewed several times on the TV, there was definitely (IMO) a foul by the SJU player. He held JP. Was couldn’t be determined was if JP was ALSO guilty of a foul. I suspect that the officials wanted to call a double foul, but because they couldn’t say with 100% certitude that JP HAD committed a foul, they decided to just call a “play on”. But there was definitely a holding foul by the SJU player.

The TV announcers said that they could overhear the officials talking, and that the officials said that they were not able to get the replay view that they wanted and were not able to determine everything that happened.longliveskip wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2018 8:46 amdid they see how JP was moving in the replay?

We had all the views that they needed on TV. Why didn't the officials have access to those? Interesting quote. If the replay view was inadequate or inconclusive how could the call on the court be changed?
Apparently permissible to waive the foul off, however, that would require a clear look.
Surmise the refs will be downgraded for this illogical explanation. Nice to have It occur during a game X has won.
