Musketeer Madness

Villanova was the only team in the Top 5 which didn't lose this week. Number 1 Michigan State got waxed pretty good today by the Buckeyes 80-64. So we're not the only team in America which lost to an unranked team this week.

At least for a couple days.

Guess M ST should drop to third as Nova dropped that far when they lost. X might drop to 9th because they seem to get punished more than others. WV was 6th and beat #7 Okla so they might go to 4 or 5. Duke was 2 and lost by 11 to an unranked so 7 should be fair but will probably will be given a break . ASU seems to be allergic to Pac 12 play and has dropped their first two if they drop their game tonight against Utah who knows where they will wind up and right now it is a 1 point game.


A dart board might be needed if this keeps up.

We will still be top ten this week.

We will drop at least three spots, with West Virginia, Virginia and Wichita State passing us. Purdue beat inferior talent at home and already had two losses. They will move into the top ten because of all the losses by teams ahead of them, but I doubt they will pass us. No team besides the aforementioned is in a position to pass us. We lost on the road to a top 50 RPI team, whereas any other team within striking distance lost at home, lost against lesser teams, lost two, or some combination thereof.

My prediction is:

1) Nova, 2) West Virginia, 3) Virginia, 4) MSU, 5) Duke, 6) Wichita State, 7) Arizona State, 8) Xavier, 9) Purdue, 10) Oklahoma or Texas Tech.

UC should be 15.

Seton Hall will be top 20.

Creighton gets back in the top 25.

Providence and Butler will get some votes.

IMHO WVU should be a lock for three. ....Bigger

Also... Providence beats #5 and doesn't pick up a single vote in the North East? And Butler loses to two ranked teams after defeating #1 and disappears altogether?

At least Seton Hall and Creighton are getting deserved respect, and at least we have our second week this season of back-to-back top 25 match ups.

I watch Purdue a lot (3 grandsons attending there and 2 daughters are Purdue grads) and I am ok with them ahead of us. They are really talented extending to there 7’2” and 7’3” centers who are more and more playing together.

I'm fine with it now. But at that point, they didn't have resume that we did to deserve passing us, IMO.
