Banners on the Parkway might owe old time XU fans an apology. They wrote 5 reasons UConn shouldn't reenter the Big East. Reason #5 the most obvious, they play Div 1 Football - and I'm sure they want to keep that. Banners said FOOTBALL SUCKS and other football negatives. Some of us old timers might take offense as XU played football for decades - undefeated since 1973. A friend of mine played his Freshman year for XU in 1972 & was decimated when the team was abandoned. Whoever wrote the UConn article probably wasn't even born when we lost our last game back in 1972. Tread lightly Banners, the Football Spirit are watching

Sorry scoop but I have to respond to your misuse of the word "decimate", something that just bugs the h*ll out of me
"Decimation was a Roman punishment where one in ten men was killed. So when something is decimated, it implies that ten percent of it is destroyed. “Devastate” is almost certainly a better word for most usages and yet: “New York City budget will decimate libraries”."

OK, Knock Football. I Don't watch college because unless you're in a Power 5 league you have NO CHANCE to play for the National Title.
I do feel UCF's pain going 13-0, beating Auburn - who beat Georgia & Alabama, yet no opp to win title. This goes for C-USA, MAC, Mountain West, AAC. Why play Div 1 football if you have ZERO CHANCE to play for it all. That is why bball is King to me. The little guys get their chance. College Football needs to take all League Champs plus a wild card or two. 10 or 12 team playoff or at least 8 team. Most years at least 1 of the "ignored conferences" has a member that deserves a chance to win it all. Why have 120+ Div 1 teams if only 60+ have a chance to win it all.
