Interesting that Ken Pom has XU's RPI at 17, while Realtime has us at 58. Go figure. (Going to be an interesting year.)

KenPom explicitly does not report RPI. RPI is a formula that is based upon your home/away winning percentage, your opponent's winning percentage, and opponents' opponents winning percentage. It is used by the NCAA explicitly not to include scores / margin of victory etc. that perhaps can be manipulated. Really only useful towards the end of the season and never meant to be a "ranking," rather a way to show whether you've beaten or lost to good or bad teams (new this year ... at home, neutral, road matters for defining good/bad teams).

KenPom tries to predict game outcomes using all sorts of available information. Among the best there is for an appropriate ranking especially when the season is well underway.
