Clear as mud.
Maybe each should get so many points for each win and loss within each Tier.
And if teams like X wouldn't have gotten in, who would have taken their spot?
Doesn't seem like there many teams that were in the NIT that would have had a better record based on this tiers.

Hm, it's interesting. This Wisconsin win will likely be affected which is good. It'll likely be a tier 1 instead of 2 since it was on the road.

They state the theory is its supposed to help the non major conference teams.

This would be true as long as they play (and win) some solid non-conference games. I think overall it may help bigger conference teams as their road games will count for more so wins against the middle teams in their conference will now be worth more. In the meantime the small conference guys will only be getting tier 3-4 matchups for a lot of their conference season.
