New Orleans Pelicans take Edmond Sumner with a 2nd Round Pick (52nd overall).

It just goes to show the upswing bestowed upon Ed. There were some very good players like Kobi Simmons from Arizona and Nigel Hayes from Wisconsin who weren't drafted.

Happy he was drafted and hope he can make something of being drafted. But let us all be real in that he went from an upper part of the first round to the lower part of the second round due to his injury. Most second rounders seldom catch on in the NBA. The injury really hurt his draft status. I wish him well.

then he was a steal and if he was good enough to be a first rounder what is to keep him from sticking with a team.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

The thinking on Ed since his injury has been that a team that can wait a year can put him on ice for a year they get avfirst rounder for second round money. Since this was the Pacer's third pick it is very little risk for them.
