CBS sports reports that his deal is for seven years at FOUR MILLION per year. Now wonder he waited for the right job opening. WOW!

Easier said than done. He absolutely deserves a raise, but X will never be able to compete financially with the Blue Bloods. CM will just have to decide that a 7+ figure salary in Cincy trumps a much higher paying job elsewhere. He was going to go to an average bball school, CA, for more money 3 years ago, until he was vetoed from the Mrs. Who could blame him if he did? J Wright could have left for much more money many times, and has decided to stay. What bodes well for supporters is that X is in the BE (though they were also there 3 years ago), and is recruiting at the highest level ever. The infrastructure is now there for X to get to a FF, and even further. Takes exceptional coaching, talented players, and luck.

Someday.

However they still need to pony up. If we lose Mack for money we will likely be a mediocre BE program going forward because we will always be losing good coaches for money.

It is so nice when AH is sober and not drooling because he does make so good points, unfortunately the years of drugs and rock and roll have taken their toll, the sex is all self inflected according to him.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Between 1.6-1.9 which includes ALL compensation i.e. Salary, Big East $, the Sedler family that donated a chunk of cash a.k.a. "The Sedler Family Head Coach Chris Mack", Nike $, Bonuses....and I'm sure I'm missing some other income streams.

I can guaranatee you that it will NOT come down to a bidding war when Mack leaves. It will essentially work itself out the same way Archie to IU came to fruition. These guys already have guaranteed contracts (in A millers case, he was making well over 2 million a year guaranteed for the next 8-10 years. They were going to offer him a more money and a 7 year extension on top of that.

If you are a top notch up and comer like Mack and Miller are, you have earned the privilage of waiting until YOUR perfect job opens up, most likely a blue blood with an athetic department with unlimited funds. Macks handful of schools that he would leave X for have become somewhat public knowledge. IU was definitely one of them, which is why I was freaking out because, if we would have lost him this year, the 17' recruiting class would have been decimated. This class is a "core" type of recruiting class. It's large, it's our most highly rated ever, and it will detemine the success of this team for the next 3-5 years.

For me, that Elite 8 run was almost as important/fun as Mack staying/we retaining our 17 class AND the UDUMP losing their coach.

All I am saying is that the cost of poker is going up, whether we pay it to Mack or another coach. Perhaps basketball is at another watershed moment. Is this the point where A-10 type leagues and maybe some Big East programs have to drop out of the money race, expect to turnover good coaches regularly and really, unless getting lucky once in awhile, expect to get to the tourney sometimes but rarely go anywhere. I know, X has been turning over good coaches, but I guess my dream still is to get a great coach and keep him for the long term. We have that for now, but for how long. Pony up, X!

Xavier will MAY always be a stepping point, a bus stop, to another job or destination for every Xavier coach and for that reason, Xavier will always be re building the next coach for his next job....UNLESS . Chris Mack is a top 25 coach, maybe a top 20 coach. If Mack wins a FF then he will be a top 15 or top 10 coach. Xavier Administration....needs to pay Mack at least $3 million now in order to keep him long term. Suggestion ..a new contract with an annual salary Guaranteed of $2.5 million next year 2017-18, and a guaranteed of $2.75 million in 2018-19, and a guaranteed $3 million in 2019-20....with a buy out of $2.5 million to leave up to 2020. up the bonuses on Elite 8 and really up to the bonus for a FF.
