Last nite was O'Mara's time to shine amongst our 3 Bigs. Maryland didn't seem overly big or overly fast, so O'Mara took full advantage of his matchup.
Next up is Florida St who appears to have 2 Bigs starting. Will Mack adjust & possibly play 2 of our Bigs at times, or stick with his normal 1 Big at a time on the floor? Jones or Gaston could be next games Big star or O'Mara again. It has been noted on this board that Gaston's stats for the year
are almost identical to Reynolds last year & he did have 3 straight double doubles with Bluiett hurting. Jones went 8 for 8 against Creighton's 7 ft Patton - so he too can shine. I would think in a close game in the final minute or two O'Mara might be in as he can hit free throws much better than the other 2 guys. My overall point is that we don't have a bonafide star Big, but the combination of Our Big 3 is deeper than most opponents we might face. Then there is the Mini-Big guy in Gates too who should fake a 3 once in a while, then drive to the hole. ps-congrats to Q & Bernard who seemed
responsible for great defense on Melo Trimble.
3 Big Musketeers, who's up next?
