351 Division One schools. Only 15 (4%) Universities have 2 or more NCAA National Men's Basketball titles. The other 96% have either one or none. About 90% have none. So the odds are greatly against getting a National Title..period. UCLA has 11 titles and almost all were under Coach Wooden. KY has 8, and Calipari has one in 7 years. Duke, Indiana, and North Carolina have 5 each. Conn. has 4. Louisville and Kansas have 3 each. So 8 (2%) schools out of 351 have 44 of the titles. Seven schools have won 2 titles. The state of OHIO has only 3 titles...1960 The OSU and UC 1961 and 1962...that is it folks. State of Indiana has only 5 titles and the last one was in 1987...30 years ago. The state of California has 15 titles due to Wooden, but since 1975, 42 years ago..one title in 1995.

More stuff -

As it has been mentioned over and over again by the talking heads, 16 seeds have never beaten a 1 seed.
0-128 over the last 32 years.

Farthest a 15, 14 and 13 seed has advanced has been the S16.
Total of 9 teams in those 3 seeds have accomplished that.
Reaching the S16 -
12 seeds - 20 times
11 seeds - 19 times
10 seeds - 23 times
9 seeds - 5 times
8 seeds - 12 times
Makes sense on the 8/9 seeds as they are always playing a 1 seed on the weekend.
There have been three 11 seeds to reach the F4 -VCU, George Mason & LSU but only one 10 seed and one 9 seed.
And an 8 seed is the highest seed to win a NC - Nova in 1985.
