How the heck do all the talking heads at ESPN have Syracuse in over us? How can they think they are definitely in and we are not?
If you look at all the metrics used for selection, they are better in only three categories: Last 12 (7-5 vs. 6-6), quality wins (6 vs 3), and conference record (10-8 vs 9-9). The difference here is essentially ONE LOSS.
We have the edge in every other metric:
Overall record: 20-12 vs. 18-14
Non-conference record: 11-3 vs. 8-6
Neutral court record: 3-0 vs. 0-3 (!!)
Road record: 4-8 vs. 2-8
RPI: 33 vs. 82
SOS: 20 vs. 58
NCSOS: 23 vs 218 (!!)
Etc.
I just do not see how they get in before us, even if we lose to Butler.
Anyways, as long as it is a competitive game tonight, we should be in. If we win, we are a lock.

Re: Syracuse
the yearly push to put the bottom third of the ACC into the tourney. Talking heads stirring up conversation
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Re: Syracuse
The loss of subscriber numbers that came out this week are scary. All these sports networks are under siege. One thing for certain, the money pit is drying up.

Re: Syracuse
I will say it again. You want the truth? lol or You cannot handle the truth? LOL /from A Few Good Men movie. 75% of the world's population does NOT give a damn for overall sports in general! Some like soccer(the most popular sport worldwide). Some like football or basketball or baseball or what ever.but those who like these other sports are few and far between. Only 25% of the world follows a sport or 2 or 3 sports. TV revenues are drying up because the % watching these sports is fewer and fewer. Some sports now have a viewing audience within the USA of about 10 to 15% tops...mostly under 5% of 330 million. Which means if 15 million are watching , that may be the top number of people watching. Which means over 300 million within the USA are not watching. Ratings of all sports are dropping like a rock...baseball and golf are poor ratings , NASCAR is poor now/stands are half empty at most races, and the NFL last year had its worse TV viewing numbers in recent times. People are not following sports in large numbers. I follow college football and basketball the most. Watch a little NFL also but watch the playoffs the most. But I never watch baseball till the World Series. Never watch NBA basketball till NBA Championship series. The last Olympics ratings were poor...and I watched most of it. In general....most of the USA and the World follows a small percentage of all sports events. The $$$ of ads is and will drop. ESPN is about to fire 1000 more people ...soon.

Re: Syracuse
ESPN has the acc tv deal. They talk non stop about the acc.
10 years ago they were the big east network and were always talking themselves into 11-12 big east teams being tourney worthy.
