Reasons Xavier should make the NCAA Tournament.....RPI is 22 and SOS is 7th.

I think we're in one of the zones that finishing badly will play a big role in where/if we go. I'm chalking the Butler game up as a loss, but do recognize that Butler could have a let down after sweeping Nova. However, they are clearly better than X. That Rpi is really showing why it's kind of jaded. If i'm looking at those current rankings, we're 0 and 5 against top 25 competition as Creighton now sits past 25, and 2 and 6 top 50 including a win over a team we lost to. Seems kind of crazy you can be top 25 rpi and not won a top 25 rpi game based on eos rankings.Is Colorado a "bad" loss at 115. Not sure, but not good either. Marquette is a must win at home, and the way things are going, Depaul not a gimmy. Will be an interesting finish for certain. I kind of doubt there is a lot of precedent for dropping this many games the last few weeks of a season. Also, likely need to win one in MSG.

Those numbers are nice but we need to win a few more games or they mean nothing.

RPI is strong but the body of work as described in the other post is horrible. X has to beat Butler to feel good about their chances and can't drop either of the last 2. 1 win in the BE tourney would put X in the dance with the 3 wins to end the season. But then what? X can't beat good teams so we are 1 and done or at best 2 and out. X needs better coaching and needs better team chemistry. With Sumner gone there is no one to break down the defense other than Macura and his finishing is inconsistent. Q can drive but can't score. Everyone else is 1 dimensional.

I would prefer a one and done or 2 and done over the NIT etc. Yes, even if X makes the Dance, there is not much hope for a Sweet 16 or higher. It is what it is and so far the season is just average....nothing to get excited about.
