The Final Four and a National Championship

Postby Xavier2005 » Sun Feb 19, 2017 9:27 am

Getting to the Final Four is very difficult for most schools within Division One Basketball. Winning the FF and the National Championship is even more difficult. Those that have made it are very few of the 351 schools. Winning it all even fewer. Kentucky over the last 8 years has spent $8 million to $10 million a year just on one coach in order to get the best high school one and done basketball players. Eight years of both and Kentucky has made the FF four times..50%. But achieved only one National Championship in those 8 years. Certainly with all the costs put together, not just the Head coach salary, Kentucky has spent well over $100 million in 8 years to win National Championships and only has won one. If you look who has even made the FF in the modern era of college basketball, it is only the few chosen ones and a lot of repeat schools. It is a group of select programs. Point: very very hard to make the FF . It is even harder to be the Champion. Xavier has 2 Elite 8s in its history. Maybe, maybe some day, but I will never predict when.
