Coach Mack magic

Postby muncie6569 » Sun Feb 12, 2017 1:41 pm

When Ed went down many on this board wrote off the rest of the season. Then we won several Big East games without him. Ok now Tre is out for who knows how long. Will Coach Mack save the season anyway? I remember when Archie Miller took a team even with less talent than we now have to the Elite 8. Can Mack? I say never give up on X!

I am not giving up....there is always next year and next year and next year....LOL nope not giving up. I been doing this since 1976, when I first started going to the games /season tickets!!!! So,....40 years and two Elite 8's and no Final Four. So, if Elite 8 and up is magic...then 2 out of 40 years. I am sure there are others who have been waiting even longer. Making The Dance is now routine and expected by X fans....for others the minimum expectation is the Sweet 16 at least. Beyond the Sweet 16 is just gravy.

ohhh 2 out of 40 years since 1976 is 5% of the time....and 95% no magic???? Now, if if if you count Sweet 16s as magic, then yes there has been more magic. Define "Magic".

Any word on how long TRE out & exact nature of injury. I can handle him missing 2 or 3 games in order to be close to 100% as opposed to hobbling all the time. Hope he returns soon. Worrisome also is health of JONES - tendenitis. JP-back & other aches. Too many minutes. GOODIN-wear of 40 min per game. GATES- is he 100% recovered from inj. OMARA - why so few min? Wishing to commend MACK on getting GASTON & BERNARD on team. Not great but very serviceable players.

The Dance Committee has not put some teams into The Dance if a Team is too injured and not deemed competitive.

Started at X in '67...you who have been spoiled by the current and recent success, should have been around to see that! In four years at X, we never came close to a winning season...coach: George Krajack...look it up. Of course, that is not to say...we should despair. Support the team!

O'Mara not playing because he has been horrible. It's just a question whether he will get more fouls or turnovers. Jones and Gaston playing much better. And you only need 2 players at the 5 poisition. However he may have to play since we only have 4 players to play at at the other 4 positions except little Stain may be getting some minutes.

I think O'Mara played little Saturday because of the smaller lineup Nova used. That presented a lot of mismatches on the defensive end for X.I've lowered my expectations for this year.I'll be happy with making the field and maybe pull off one win.All depends on Blueitt's health now.
