This team has no ability to close out games, a non existent inside game and a coach who has very little idea of how to teach defense. It's also headed to the NIT unless major changes occur soon!

I'm not sure about major changes. But I agree this team is NIT bound if something doesn't change quick. Let's hope for a return to the past when the team that lost the shootout went on to have a very good season.

Where is your evidence that X will be fine? They've now lost 4 of 5 and cannot close out games against good teams. There is no consistent inside game and the defense has been awful in the second half of games. Sorry, I don't share your optimism.

What?? The point is X won't make it to the Dance if they don't start beating good teams. They obviously haven't yet and there's very little reason to feel confident they will in February and March.

What's this 'unless things change quickly'. Don't you realize this team has forged its collective identity? With over half the season in the books they are who they are. There are missing pieces: Capable post player, lock down perimeter defender, consistent Tyrone Hill type rebounder, no senior leadership. They will make the dance with 20 wins/average seed. They will advance only by catching lightning in a bottle. There is nothing really special about this squad. It happens to all programs.

The NCAA tournament committee has to find 36 at large bids somewhere. We're going to be one of them if we go 6-6 in our next 12 (11 games + BE tournament).

We're not going to beat anyone once we're selected. But we'll get selected.
