Grest game for Marquette! It would be great accomplishment if we can finish Big East play at 13-5. Even 12-6 would be acceptable.
Big East- Any given night!!!

Marquette actually used the 1-3-1 zone to beat the number 1 team in country.

13-5 would mean going 9-2 in the remaining conference games which include home and away games against said Marquette, home games against Nova and Butler, road game at Creighton. Plus road games at Seton Hall, PC, and SJU.
The opportunity is there for X but going to have play better than what they have so far in conference play.

I love this league. It has turned out better than even the ten schools imagined.

Wojo & Holtman currently are in a deap heat, with Mcdermott and Wright a length behind for BE COY. Some were saying a couple of weeks ago that Holtman was a candidate for Nat'l COY, but losses to In St and St. Johns probably disqualified him from that honor. Many national pundits seem to think Sean Miller is the Nat'l COY at this point, which would surprise me as much as the sun rising tomorrow.
What a great accomplishment for X if this occurred. I'm sure the Board would be thrilled, as we all root for former coaches who elevated the program to the highest heights reached in its history (tied w/TM).
This is great for the league, as 5 teams look to be a pretty sure lock, unless one completely implodes. Creighton would seem to be the best candidate, considering they just lost their best player for the year. I doubt that will happen though.

Interestingly, I see us moving down the pecking order. We are probably the fifth team from the Big East now. Marquette has two coveted victories against Nova and Creighton. We need to get in gear otherwise we'll end up as an 8th or 9th seed. Go X!!!

The optimist in me says that 'Nova has 2 loses, X has 3, and X gets to play them again, and it's at home.
The pessimist in me says that MQ has 3 loses, but has 5 wins, and X still hasn't played them.
Well balanced league where you never get a night off. In the meantime, did anyone catch that St. Bonnie v St Joe's matchup in the A-10 last night?
I didn't think so.

i watched the entire 2nd half of this game. Nova up 12-13 most of the half until about 5 minutes left.
MU 1-3-1 is a little more aggressive than ours but concept is the same - try to force contested 3's. i can say this - Nova just started MISSING, and A LOT of them were open 3's. and MU started MAKING shots. hmmm, go figure how that works.
however, ending the game against a Nova team on a 20-4 run is pretty remarkable.

I would agree.Until we beat one of the top 3,MU is ahead of us.I think it's overly optimistic to think we're going to go 12-6 in this league.I'd be pretty happy with 11-7.
Great win for MU.I thought Nova had that game put away.
