For what it is worth, an early draft projection from Chad Ford ESPN.

16. Houston Rockets

Edmond Sumner
Xavier
Sophomore
Guard

Five of the first nine players taken in this mock were point guards. After they're gone, there's a pretty big drop-off in PG talent.

Sumner was one of the stars of the Nike Skills Academy this summer. He has terrific size for a point guard and great quickness. Given the dearth of point guards on the Rockets' roster, Sumner might be a good get.

I'm not optimistic about him moving up either. He is a great kid, hard worker, and is very skilled offensively, but lacks the quickness to guard a decent 2, and quickness AND height to guard a 3 in the NBA. He will also have a hard time getting his shot off. I hope I'm wrong, but Hayes showed a glimpse of the challenges he'll face. Granted, it was a small sample, but what does it say when a top 25 Nike player is at the tail end on an NBA draft projection (though others will project him higher, and lower, for that matter) I hope I'm wrong, and he becomes an offensive specialist, but Sumner, and Gates are the highest 2 future draft picks on the roster.

Regardless, Blueitt can make alot of money overseas; a not too shabby consolation.
