Watched bits and pieces last night.
Seemed like a lot of foreign players picked - counted 16 in all or about 25% of the draft.
8 in the 1st round and 8 in the 2nd round.
4 BE guys picked
Dunn was the 5th pick to Minn.
Ellenson went 18th to Detroit. He was available when the Bucks picked but they passed on him
Whitehead went to Brooklyn at the 42nd pick
And Bentil was picked by Boston at 51.

I would expect James and Jalen to be invited to summer leagues for NBA teams. I also would not be surprised if they both made the NBA D League. Jalen is an intriguing project for teams. James is a ready-to-go role player as a rebounder.

Arcidiacono signed onto the San Antonio Spurs shortly after the conclusion of the NBA draft, in a partially guaranteed deal. His contract entails a two-year deal with the Spurs. As for Ochefu, the 6-11 center also nabbed a deal overnight, joining the Washington Wizards.

Nice topic in a boring summer far from 1st practice.
Bentil = steal of the draft. Saves Boston's otherwise
Horrid draft...

Farr should immediately go play abroad. He would never be able to guard guys at his position night in and out in the nba. Reynolds should give it a year at most given his age. Time i$ wasting when you could be making really good money.

X didnt play much of an inside out game. The NBA is looking for big men who can pass, shoot the mid range jumper and defend. Scoring is a bonus in today's game. Reynolds played a different role in a different offense. Given his size and strength he "got ball, dunked ball" or worked the put back game off the boards.

He has the athleticism to be a plus defender. In a different offense, I wonder if he could pass as I remember him having decent hands. Jump shot would need some work but he could make an NBA rotation with two of three attributes added to his current game. He will probably spend a year in the D League developing and then join some rosters.

Farr doesnt have the physical attributes that Reynolds has but he is relentless. If he can learn to rebound like Tristan Thompson does, and get a little quicker with his footwork on defense, he may be able to carve out an NBA roster spot as a role player who provides some big man minutes, defends, draws fouls and grabs offensive rebounds/put backs.

Hard to believe that Bentil and Whitehead went so low considering how well they played in the Big East and against us. The track record of Euro players and the number that turn into all-stars is horrible, mainly teams draft them to stash them for a year and two and they don't have to pay.
