Didn't get to see the game out here b/c of ESPN, CSTV, whatever... What's the story with C. Bronson? Can we expect to see similar development ala D. Jackson anytime soon?

I didn't think he looked very good. I would not expect to ever see a whole lot from him, particularly with Frease coming in next year and Love's development.

Based on what we've seen so far, I could see Bronson developing into a good low post scorer (maybe a starter down the line, maybe not) except for the presence of Love and Frease. Charles may be the #3 center, which ain't exactly a primetime spot.

I would agree with that. The kid has some potential, but he is unlikely to ever see enough minutes to truly develop.

Bronson seems to have a knack for getting quickly to the basket. He needs better control of that quickness. It is his D that is not allowing him to get more playing time. If his D comes around I could see this kid start to take off for the team.

I also agree with His Neutralness, even though agreement makes boring reading. Deathwish will battle Will Caudle of '03-'04 as the greatest 3rd string center in Xavier history.

Observation. Xavier has for quite a while been playing eight or nine players as they did last night long before the game got out of hand. Everybody needs a break now and then. Yeah, these guys are young and in the prime of life and best of health--supposedly.
But, as witnessed, Drew's ouchy knee led to Dante's increased minutes. Bronson has one thing you can't coach--6-9,-10 height. Sooner or later he's going to step up with a creditable rebounding effort which as we all know--or should--is the ending to an excellent defensive set.
Remember, please, Bronson is still making the transition from JC to D1 college and at the highest level at times.
I recall how a young freshman named Aaron Williams looked like the consimate stiff the first two months of his freshman year but by the time Xavier beat Georgetown to advance to the Sweet 16, A-Train made a valuable contribution at the end of the game grabbing a couple of rebounds and hitting at least one free throw to give Xavier a victory.
All season long Sean has been substituting players 1 through 8 or 9 EVEN IN THE FIRST HALF. It has paid off with Dante Jackson, and to a degree with Adrion Graves. Both have become better defensive players after both looked like they couldn't stop Jimmy Binne wearing lead boots on his feet and leg irons.
Remember, Frease will be a freshman next year. Yes, I said freshman. Dante was a freshman. Brown had to be redshirted and it made a big difference to him. Even the great Byron Larkin was once a freshman who became Xavier's leading scorer of all time.

You're right, Q, in that it's not a given that Frease will come out of the gate firing next year. It's certainly possible that Love and Bronson could share the center PT while Frease adjusts to playing against bigger, faster, stronger players.

I don't know if you want to use Larkin as your example, though, as he led X in scoring his freshman year with 17ppg. And that was on a team starting 4 juniors.

"N" but even Byron did not start until 7 or 8 games into the season as frosh; if I heard "Q" correctly, it is just give Bronson the time/chance to make his contribution--which may not even be this year.
