It was bad enough I could not watch last night's game on ESPN or ESPN2 (yeah, Winter X games and MSU at Northwestern is good TV). But this morning, I get my lazy rear out of bed at 5: 45 a.m. to have a nice workout and watch some Sportscenter. Turned it on at 6, got on the Elliptical...and 35 minutes later I was done. Amazingly, in that 35 minutes, the only game featuring 2 TOP 25 teams was not even mentioned, nor did I see it on the sidebar as one of the things coming up soon.
I really needed that 20 minutes of preview for a Super Bowl that won't be as good as the game these teams last played 4 weeks ago. Thanks, ESPN.
Thanks, ESPN!

Re: Thanks, ESPN!
Sorry you didn't get an update, but I believe I know why. I was there and it wasn't much of a game. Sure I'm thrilled we beat them like a red-headed stepchild. What we saw for those of us who were there was a very good team (X) playing great D and owning an overmatched opponent. ESPN probably didn't consider it newsworthy since it was pretty much a regional conflict. And while it is disappointing that they didn't do something with the 2 - top 25 teams angle, dayton proved they don't belong.
It's time for a bourbon on the rocks!

X got a fair amount of time on last night's College Gameday show. Frischilla went on at some length about the overall strength of the A-10, and Xavier being at least a Sweet 16 team, but the fact that it was not much of a game probably did affect the number of highlights shown.

Neutral is right, last night they talked about X a lot. As for two top 25 teams well one didn't show up last night.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

What do you expect? The game wasn't on any of the ESPN "Family of Networks". They promote their own. CSTV is a competitor (albeit a weak a$$ one). ESPN could care less.
Thanks to the league for a horrible TV contract. And did the league and Xavier actually make any money on last night's game? Almost every commercial break had an ad for XAVIER- paid for by XAVIER.
This is some deal!

They are running highlights on ESPN news.

Add to that, the night before A&M/Baylor, two Top-25 teams, and we get rodeo coverage on ESPN-2. Even when it starts OT-4 we're watching bull riding or poker. Seriously?

I thought the same thing this morning trying to catch some highlights on Sportscenter. Even the ESPNradio Sportscenter updates only mention the saem 4 games they showed highlights of and mention nothing of our game.

Re: Thanks, ESPN!
Speaking of the Xavier ad that was shown a number of times during the game, who produced it? Does it represent the best effort of whoever it was that did so? Was it done at Xavier, by Xavier students? If so, it doesn't present a positive image, in terms of production values, concept, or general appearance; in fact, it does the opposite of what was intended: it looked like a video that an amateur might have thrown together and posted on YouTube. To be honest, the UD version probably cost a whole lot less and did a much better job of accomplishing its objective.

How do you know if X had to pay for those Ads. I would actually guess they do not have to do so as a part of the contract and covering a home game.
