Gameday Cafe

I couldn't go on my second spring break so I'll be watching the game at Gameday Cafe downtown. That appears to be the venue of choice over on the other board. So there should be a pretty strong showing of X fans there.

I hope Muskieman will go to Gameday and buy me a free beer.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'd like to go there right now for lunch and then stay there.

BW3's at the bottom of Beechmont hill was a good XU gathering place last year...is that still true? Would like to go where lots of blue are tonight, but stay on the east side as opposed to downtown...root hard, 87.

As you know xhoops, BW3 is usually my preferred choice. But the guys I usually go there with are all in Phoenix. So come on downtown.

P.S. I'll even buy you a beer and one for Mrs. xhoops (domestic of course).

I was at the BW3s on the bottom of Beechmont last week for the opening round game. Even with it being in the middle of the day and just the first round game it was too packed to be able to get a seat 10 minutes before game time. That BW3s will be a good bet to fill up with plenty of X fans and fill up early.

but seriously folks, maybe i'm getting old, but i'll probably just stay home with a 6 pack of hudy and watch it on the old philco down in the rumpus room, so's i don't miss anything.

We used to get 1/2 barrels of Schoenling (Stout?) for tapping around 9AM on Saturdays before our 1PM games, and other occasions. I'd say those were great times, but my memories of them are fuzzy at best.

Hudy 10k. None of that wussy light stuff for me.
We HAD to get fuzzy for games back then. Many of them were best forgotten by the next morning, but it was fun.
BTW, Bob Quick [I know that he was a year before your time, kid] sat in front of me at the Virginia game. Still a class guy and many people came over to say hello to him and shake his hand. He was visibly impressed with the team.
I also saw Anthony Hicks at about every game this year. Throw in other regular attendees: Jim Boothe, Hank Stein and John Schlaeger [sp.] and we could have a pretty good alumni team.

Glad to see that Quick, Hicks, etc., are still following the program. I hope the university is reaching out to these Xavier greats to keep them involved.

Bob Quick is one of the reasons I came to X. I thought we'd have good basketball during my time there. Dear God, was I wrong.

And it was Sir Edward Stout we used to drink.
Trust me, it was no wussy light stuff.
