theres a guard in ohio (name escapes me right now) who definatlly has the talent ive seen him play at the local gym for 2-4 hours he is amazing when he is on he can consistantlly make them from 35 ft out, so he is a good 3pt shooter, very fast when he wants to work hard and set a playing weight he is just another very good sharp shooter who also can stick to you like glue, but his down side, sometime has trouble keeping weight, and only about 5'11 i think

this kid definatlly has talent to play d1 just has to have the oppurtunities

nice video game scouting report. FG, Blocks, Steals, is not something that is scouted. Those sound like recruit ranking for a video game.

"A D-1 player if he could only get a shot". Yeah, I bet that shot will be at a top 20 program. If your a YSU scout, sounds like you better sign him.

yea it sounds like your talking just to hear your self talk so FG is not a part of scouting? so players are just supposed to stand out past the 3pt line all day? steals are not?really? cuz that shows how quick his hands are to rip somebody off the dribble. blocks show how athletic you can be.
and i know he has offers from some smaller d1 schools and ohio state is still watching him and talking to him along with pittsburg but wont offer untill more room opens up in there recruiting classes

just so you don't sound so foolish when you go to another message board with this. here are some terms you would hear from a scout.

lateral quickness
first step
pull up game
mid range game
shooting off the dribble
catch and shoot
ability to finish in traffic
ball handling
footwork
basketball IQ

Also, rating a player 1-10 is not done by scouts. A scouting report would be descriptive of their specific strengths and weaknesses. Shot blocking would never be mentioned when discussing a 5-11 guard, unless is was some kind of unheard uncanny strength.
