We don't qualify - not a mid-major.

Is it necessary to perceive any omission of Xavier from a CBB story as slight? Are we so unsure of the accommpolishments the University that we crave recognition like some neglected middle child? My experience in professional, academic and business arenas is that Xavier grads are respected and successful because of their talents and excellent education.

If I went to St.Louis, I would be asking to be taken off the list. Eventually, Butler will be asking also in a few years also after the move. This mid-major label is crap. It should be non-football schools or non-football revenue schools.

Instead of "non BCS" schools or mid major the more accurate description could be institutions without substantial influence in the financial cabal of American collegiate revenues.

Call X a low major or mid major. I really have never cared. I'd rather be whatever with 4 of 5 years in Sweet 16, a couple of Elite 8s. Is Rutgers a high major because of their conference affiliation? IMHO, X is the dominant team in a mid major conference surrounded by low to medium mid majors. X schedules like high major teams and based on their success in the tourney, beat many high majors. Having said that, X needs to get to a Final Four but even if they did, they would still be called a mid-major and I would be even more thrilled.

Agree. I'd rather work for a small company who is posting strong profit and growth every year, than a Fortune 500 company whose growth remains stagnant and experiences layoffs every year.

I think this hyper sensitivity with the mid major is much to do about nothing.

Agreed. I've never been offended in the slightest if and when X is referred to as a midmajor.

Forget mid major label - Does anyone really think XU has "Legitimate" Final Four hopes next year (as the article is titled)?? maybe this past season after the 8-0 start, but not next year with untested freshman and transfers, and less-than-outstanding talent returning (barring Wells from the conversation).

Let's have hopes for a properly balanced and coached team that shows team chemistry and effort on the court and in the locker room/practices.
A compromise is an agreement whereby both parties get what neither of them wanted
