Jason Kokrak

Postby joe abe » Fri Apr 27, 2012 9:38 am

He is playing in the PGA event in New Orleans. I followed his group some yesterday. He had a good round at 3 under. I got his attention, he said hello and gave me a high five that almost ripped my arm out of my socket. He's a big guy and hits the ball well. He has a white Cleveland Golf bag with a HUGE X on one side!!!

He has been struggling mightily of late and has not made a cut since the Tour came eastward.

This week & next may be pivotal to re-direct his season as those courses suit his game quite well.

He has made about $200K so far and will need to triple that amount by year's end to keep his card.

He's at T41 after 2 rounds, so he's good to go for the weekend.

Every year, the top 125 guys on the PGA Tour in terms of $$$ earned that year retain their cards. So, the actual dollar amount fluctuates year by year.

Just looking at his stats and he is 5th in driving. Good to see him out there doing well at -4. He's 2 shots ahead of the Masters champion!

Walked the 18 with him. He made a little run early in the back nine. His putter started working a little better. He could have birdied 18 as it is a par 5 and was down wind. He put his drive in a fairway bunker and had to layup chipped up and 2 putted for par. He's in the big easy for the weekend!! His is a gentleman...he gave his ball to a young boy unsolicited on the T Box. Talked to him after briefly..nice young man...His caddie is from Miami of Ohio.
