This from a blog post on Jerry Palm's site------

First round games are:

Valpo at Washington
Houston at Nevada
Richmond at Virginia
Rider at Old Dominion
Utah at UTEP
Miami(Ohio) at Tulsa
Cincinnati at Bradley
Brown at Ohio

I would note that they did in fact take a sub-.500 team in Cincinnati.

Teams that got left out/declined invites of note: Wake Forest, Seton Hall, Missouri, Alabama, Texas Tech. Also, IUPUI is the highest RPI
(69) of any team not playing postseason ball/at least getting aninvite (unless they too turned down the CBI???)

Except for diehard alums (OK, guys like us), who gives a hoot about any of these games? The players can't even be that excited about it.

I don't see much of a future for the CBI, especially with the NCAA owning the NIT and having a stake in its success.

If I'm Cronin, I want this game. I'm playing my young guys and I'm getting them as much experience as I can while I can coach them before summer. Anyone with a young team can use the CBI to their advantage. Sad though to see the 4 seed from the A10 tourney in the CBI.
