Interesting pans and kudos from Flyers

Interesting thread, ragging on, but also kudos, re Xavier program, and perennial sweet 16:
"Wow, the b*tchin & moanin' on this board about the success X has achieved borders on the obsessive and is somewhat embarrassing. It isn't X's fault we've underachieved over the past 28 years nor is it just "luck" that they continue to do well in the NCAA Tournament. Yeah there's a lot not to like about the attitude on that team and the way they handle themselves on and off the court...but they play the game well, have achieved a strong, enviable record over the years and, despite "character" issues, they've run a clean program."

As I post this reply on how X handles themselves on and off the court, bear with me if I have a typo-I have to keep looking up to duck in case a flying battery is headed for my head. I also want to make sure that I don't have any checks written to me from Brooks Hall because I believe UD has stopped paying him and want to make sure those checks are good-for the record, I have no complaints nor do I feel envious of UD's continued success in the NIT. Kudos for them for making that their tournament. Since they loss their first round, they are somewhere beween the 69th and 100th best team in the nation.
They talk about passing X as a program-they are now behing Norfolk St and Lehigh

ummmmm, yeah. not really sure what "off the court" issues this team has had. can't really remember any.
either way, it's simply jealousy coming from the UD board.
nothing to worry about.

most fun I have reading crap about X in a long time. It is great to be hated by the irrational ud fans. One guy had it right; they should be trying to figure out how X does it but I bet Archie already knew that.
My favorite is the guys that almost shalow their rage about TU and blame him for each and every situation in the game like the last dunk. Also the one foot over the line to describe the lane violation versus the reality of the player being at the foul line before the ball has hit the rim.
Got to love reading those guys out on the ledge.

PerterG beat me to this. My favorite time to go to the Priders' board is after a Xavier victory. It appears there's a tug of war which pitted Chris Rieman, who I reckon is the head honcho of the board, against some people who are po'd at our success. This, invariably, leads them to find "character issues" among other less than desireable virtues but it's all jealousy.
Rieman has an interesting viewpoint: "How about giving some credit to Chris Mack. This is probably the most un-talented, dysfuntional, chemistry-angst program of the last 15 years at Xavier and they still make the Sweet-16. They were as high as #8 in the country early in the year, the wheels fell off and now he's put the wheels back on."

What's crazy is the majority of Flyer fans feel that way and I know first hand. Not much mention of London Warrens recent behavior or Norman Plummer, etc.
