I do not know why we allow negative fans to post on this site. I am talking about Mr. Neutral who never has anything positive to say. Why don't you go to uc or dayton's site.

Relax. Blowing off steam helps some people cope. I bet a few of the players last night were in negative mode too. Just keep thinking positive and don't let other people dictate your happiness/

Hogster-stay off this site after a Xavier loss if you don't like negativity. That's mostly what you'll find. It's human nature I guess for people to complain more after a loss than compliment after a victory.

I wonder what the IU board was like after their loss to Minnesota last night!

Well, hogster, as I'm sure you're well aware, I started what has now become this board, and have been the moderator (or, now, one of the moderators) since its inception. So, basically, you're asking me to leave my own house. Not likely.

Yes, I know I get pissed when X performs poorly, and yes, I know have have knee-***** reactions. But I live and die with Xavier basketball, want nothing but the best for it, and hope that happens. And when I get together with other posters in Cincy or elsewhere, we usually have a great time shooting the breeze and talking XU b-ball, our favorite topic, of course.

The world contains both optimists and pessimists; I'm surprised you haven't caught on to that by now.

Gary, I sincerely mean this in the kindest way. Like death and taxes we can always count on your sour-side-of-things view. At least some things don't change. But we all love XU basketball in the end, the middle and the beginning.

Q, I figure that the overwhelming majority of guys on the board are more cheerleaders than not (and I don't mean that in a negative way).

There HAS to be room for one naysayer!

One thing there is absolutely no room for, Gary, is that f---ing Billy Packer. He is really ruining my airwaves right now.Grrrrrrrrrooooowwlllll. A plague take his house. I thing we can all agree on that. As for me, I wish the entire Xavier team had the fire and desire of Stanley Burrell. He truly bleeds Xavier blue.

On and on the weary litany of purblind negativity proceeds.

Shadow, I'm sure you know of Peter Drucker, considered to be the reigning management guru of the last half of the 20th century. I remember at least two of his truisms-

Anything decided unanimously is either insignificant or incorrect.

Any secure, strong manager has to have a right-hand person willing to say "no" and send the planners back to the drawing board to improve the plan(s).
