Did it keep you out of Dana's? I don't recall KF being arrested for disorderly conduct or anything else, so I'm not quite sure the point you're trying to make. He had a great 2nd half of his sr yr., and was the key, IMO, to our improved play.

We say it was too little too late, but I think, as others have expressed, he was the victim of hype and exaggeration of his rankings in h.s.

I also heard reports he did not work very hard in his early years. If true, shame on him for not working harder. However, he has been pounded on this board for 4 years, and represented himself and the university extremely well in his sr. year (especially post brawl).

He has taken more than his fair share of criticism. I think it's time for him to get some well deserved kudos.

Really? You couldn't figure out Rubble's point? I think you brought up his point in your response. The fact of the matter is that many people saw KF at Dana's AND heard reports that he did not work very hard. It does not take Einstein to put two and two together and think that there is a correlation.
If you do not agree with that, that's fine and I respect it. But to say you could not figure out Rubble's point is just plain dumb.

You obviously couldn't figure mine out. Where in my response did I say KF didn'tgo to Dana's as I did as a student? The point is that KF's lack of work ethic has been discussed ad nauseum on this board for 4 years. The point is is while he has taken his lumps, he should also receive kudos for rededicating himself. What happened his 1st 3 years didn't preclude him from having a very good senior year.

The fact that you missed my point leads me to believe my clarification will lead to more, unrelated correlations on your part. You say if I don't agree, that's fine, you respect that. Then, in your next sentence, you state if I don't agree with your interpretation of Ruble's point, I must be dumb.

I hate to have to hose you all down with the silver bullet of imperial thought, but - this is a great move by mack & staff.... You Cannot Teach HEIGHT & BULK. This kid has both. A school gets 13 schollies, you only play 7 to 8 on a regular serious rotation. Here is what might pan out:
1) the kid's attutude never improves and we sits at the end of the bench never cracking the lineup. No biggie, as poor Griffin did that without much fanfare.
2) Stainbrook improves a bit, gets in shape and becomes a nice role player who fills in 7 to 10 minutes a game and plays solid post D and grabs a few rebounds. Plays a bit more when we face another team with a huge post presence.
3) seizes this opportunity, loses some weight and plays 13 to 20 minutes a game. becomes a nice scoring post player due to bulk and left-handed technique. Adds some terrific post D presence where the rest of our team tend towards athletic & thin players.
** I tend to think this kid will be so very excited to be joining a serious D-1 contender that he matures a bit and takes his conditioning seriously.
How the hell can you really take WMU b-ball all that seriously. Stainbrook will be like a kid in a candy shop and use next year to redefine his body & game.
If not, he becomes a seldom used role player. You have to roll the dice with "size" sometimes. With 13 scholarships, a program can afford to swing & miss now & then.

Agreed AH. Today is the last time the school that we all profess to love and its basketball fans can in some way salute Kenny Frease and those close to him at the conclusion of his four-year career at Xavier, the the last part of which, his last season, was his best.
Few of us I think remember back four years ago when Frease who also had offers from University of Kentucky and Notre Dame, chose Xavier and honored a commitment he had made with a signed letter of intent. He could have reopened his recruiting and told Xavier to take a hike but he did not.
So how do some of us still choose to speak about him on the eve and in the early morning of what should be his biggest day at Xavier? Even maybe bigger than "Senior Day?" Why we recall that he was "seen coming out of Dana's " and focus on what to those of us among the "all knowing," was obviously what might have been the cause of his failures and the cause of our disappointments in him.
Damn, I am as sick of this crap as some of you undoubtedly will be in my constant refusal to shove my hand up a horse's rear expecting to find the "Hope Diamond." Does anyone not remember the game at LSU? Or the games against Dayton and St. Louis in the tournament or the subsequent games against Notre Dame and Lehigh in the NCAA tournament where Xavier would not have played were it not for Frease, and Tu, And Dre and Dez and Mark and Jeff ?
Oh hell, I'm tired of reading about the things Kenny, Tu, Dre, Mark, Jeff,Travis, et al didn't do. Tonight, April 19, Xavier will say good bye to three young men who over the past four years--including one much appreciated one by Andre Walker--for the most part made us very proud. The three will receive degrees from Xavier, continuing a tradition and accomplishment which makes me and I would hope even their severest critics extremely proud. Thanks guys.; Go Muskies, 76-53.

i agree with X-lucidity 100%, and as I have said I think he will be big fun for fans and cintas in general and my bet is the students will love him. i mean how could you not root for the guy he is just too much. I love it and cannot wait till he throws some of that near 300 #'s around. Think role player guys, a fun role player.
