A rumor on the Marquette board has it as the C7 plus X, Butler, Creighton, and SLU. I would think they would have to add a fifth addition to get to 12.

I have no idea how credible the poster is, so just take it for what it is worth.

The poster cites a Marquette booster as the source, but then a couple of sentences later says that the source is Marquette AD Larry Williams.

I didn't read the whole thread.

A little birdie heard....

....from a significant booster that Xavier, Creighton, SLU and Butler are most definitely getting invites. Attendance is a slight concern with the new league relative to what we have had in the BE. From what I have heard, MU is not necessarily the leader in all of this mess because the source (OK...Larry WILLIAMS)...didnt have all the answers. There is a slight amount of concern that GU doesnt have two feet in....but they have no where else to go. SJU and GU are working hard to secure long term OOC agreements with Syracuse. Some of the "other" schools dont like that effort.

I think Steve meant the announcement would be a Wednesday, not yet announced, sometime in 2013??? Maybe 2014? But a Wednesday for sure. (lol)

n,
Wow, read the entire thread from MU, lots of unlove for UD and SLU, but moreso UD. Basically saying taking the Flyers turns the C7+ into a mid major conference. All seem to be all for X and Butler, but after that, lots of talk about no UD. It almost equated UD to LaSalle or Fordham comparison. It seems as though the fear in general is fans wont buy tickets to see SLU or UD, and the thought of a home and home with each scares them even more. Also Gtown seems to be having a little "buyers remorse" and may be fishing for a better deal. But the consensus seems to be C7 plus X Butler and lots of combinations, but no Flyers. Kinda feel sorry for them, but they screwed us once, so too bad.
On another note, I wonder how hard ND is being pursued, since the ACC is in turmoil and joining this group, The C7, would leave them free to continue football independence.

Yes, A LOT of hate for UD and UD's fans on http://www.muscoop.com.

Also, this may have already been posted, but there seems to be a rumor that Butler, UD, and X are joining the BE7 with Creighton and SLU being added a year or two later. The rumor seems to be originating from somebody at Marquette.
