game thread for X vs ud

jackson has played some great D tonight and the last chance by ud is an example. Some fans are just too critical unless someone is shooting lights out but then they would complain about something else.

X played some bad ball and are down 5. Turn it around in 20 minutes and take this game.

You thought ud would just roll over and die!

Historically, we blow in the A10 tourney. Skip won it once, Thad once and Miller once. Other than that, we usually bow out early.

Apparently, this year is no exception.

I was just thinking about how big of a difference a #1 vs. #2 seed has been in this tournament. The #1 seed Temple got to play the Bonnie, whereas we got to play the Flyers.

Three-point defense isn't really present right now...

tough to guard when some of them shoot from 26 feet. They lose Johnson on one 4-5 from the three. X went to zone and they knock down the three.

Against a poor shooting team like Dayton you give up the three point shot to keep them from shreading you inside. Dayton just happens to be making them against Xavier which hasn't been true against anybody else. Our problem isn't the defense, but, our guards turning the ball over to them thus giving them open shots off the turnovers. Our guards turned the ball over 10 times in the 1st half.

You are correct. My mistake.

In '01, we lost our first game.

In '03, we lost in our second game.

In '05, we lost in our second game.

In '06, Miller won 4-in-4.

In '07, we lost in our 2nd game.

In '08, we lost in our 2nd game.

In '09, we lost in our 2nd game.

So, tonight will be somewhat unique in that we'll lose in our first game.

as i have said elsewhere....the pros sit their first team and lose,when they make the play offs.....in college the players have to go out and play like idiots while losing/to weaker teams and just make it look like they are trying,when they do not give a crap about winning. I do not want to hear from any X fan how bad Dayton is...when X plays so poorly against Dayton.
