He was which tells you how much those awards mean. It's like winning the Heisman-doesn't mean you'll make it in the NFL.
Wolf didn't put up the numbers Redford is and he was not a good shooter at St X. He scored by driving to the basket.

JW was NOT Mr Basketball in Ohio.

Lebron James won 3 times in a row, 2001, 2002, and 2003.

Jamar Butler won it in 2004.

OJ Mayo won it in 2005.

Raymar Morgan won it in 2006.

It'll be interesting to see if a 6' tall 2 guard can get his shots off against 6'-5" and 6'-6" 2 guards which he will be facing on a regular bases in college. I don't think there is any question that he is a great shooter, but, can he do it against the taller more athletic guards that he will face at the college level.

Chris Lofton is 6 ft, Stan is 6'1 even though he is listed at 6'3, Deonte Vaughn is no taller then 6 ft, Brian Roberts is around 6'1, Finn and Chalmers were both about 6 ft. You can go on and on and find a ton of 2 guards in college basketball that are not very tall. What you have to do in college is be able to move, come off screens and get your shot off quickly. Brad has a very quick release so he should not have a problem in college. But it will take him some time as it does most kids adjusting to the speed and toughness of the college game. To be honest I would not expect a ton from Brad next year due to being behind BJ, Dante and Adrion, but he will be a good player for Xavier down the road and Xavier recruited him for a reason. One thing is for sure he is a pure shooter and that is tough to teach.

When I think of Brad Redford's type of play, I envision a type of Gerry McNamra at Syracuse or a Steve Logan of UC. Average speed, average defense, very good ballhandling, smart player, and will seriously hurt you if you leave him open (anywhere beyond half court).
