UC Game Thread

I agree. The Freemantle free throw call and the T on the big from UC were just god awful. The refs were looking for something to call in both instances. The game was well played and there are no need for those type of whistles.

Sweet good call pointing out the T. Cant hide your bearkitten stripes. UC continues to make excuses of only playing one game. That's on the coach. They should have scheduled more games to prepare for their superbowl. UC frankly is irrelevant except in Cincinnati because of the alumni base. 1 S-16 in like 25 years. X has now won 6 of 8 and 10 of 14 and 15 of 22. Their best coach (who also got the team in trouble for violations 3 different times) huggins was 8-8 vs X at UC and 0-2 when at KSU and WVU. Mick was 5-9 and those before Mick like Kennedy never beat X. Felt bad for DeJulues crying because you know, this game doesn't mean much to UC. Always got a kick out of Cronin saying those types of things while he was bringing pizza to the fans before the shootout for camping out in the one game every two years they would sell out. Sweet, you have inspired me to get on the Bearcat forum and they are pissed at me. All i did was remind them of X's record. That damn T.

Is XU relevant outside of Cincy and their alumni base? I dont see us making much noise nationally or getting much attention.

Sweet you come on board acting like an x fan to fan the flames. Always find a subtle dig at X. You are a UC fan. Even with my post will always point out the negative about X. Would have more respect for you if yku just come clean. You hate ax but unfortunately UC is no good. I believe yku are the one and only east side J. Good luck to your bearcats. Get on their board as they are sure UC wins if this wasn’t their second game.

Last time I checked, how they looked wasn’t as important as what the result was. Result was X won a close game. Result was UC lost a close game. The games could have gone either way. But they didn’t. Can’t change that now.

I appreciate the fact that it was only UC’s second game, and that it was X’s sixth. But it’s still about results, doesn’t matter if it’s the 1st or the 30th game. I personally think that UC will win a lot of games this year. That they will keep improving and will be a decent team at the end of the year. But they are still going to be hampered by having a slow front court at a time where the emphasis in college basketball is more on quickness and movement. That’s going to continue to be a problem for them all year. I don’t think that their ceiling is anywhere near as high as the ceiling for X. How they both end up is going to depend on how close they each come to realizing their potential. I think that the X roster has more potential than the UC roster.

I agree Kyrez. Watched second half again and it was an enjoyable well played half by XU. They got the stops and made big FT's down the stretch despite mystery foul calls and a ridiculous FT violation. Oklahoma will be our toughest game so far they are loaded on offense and well coached.

Man, I can't believe that I have missed this game... It sounds like the best game that's been played for a while. Actually, the result is not even important after seeing players enthusiastic and motivated. I need to find a way to watch the games from my property in Spain though, otherwise I will miss so many good games.

Oh and your comment that X isn’t relevant outside Cincinnati perhaps that’s true. 4 S-16 including an Elite 8 is better than most teams in the country except the blue bloods. I that same timeframe UC has 1 S-16. Haven’t seen an elite 8 since Huggins where they had 2 elite 8a and a final four. Also during that time we’re on probation 3x including lack of institutional control. Congrats on your 1992 FF. What has your team done lately. Go to your board Sweet. You are just sitting in the bushes waiting forever X to fail. Maybe it happens but you should get ready for the directional foes in the tough AAC. Incidentally, remember when UC fans made fun of Xs schedule in the A-10 for a reason they had a good record-see UC football.

Our Muskies looked great against Oklahoma. Shot the heck out of it. I hope it continues. My only complaint on the season is Freemantle's mustache and and haircut. Needs cleaned up. Looks like a Norwood local.

What have the programs done lately? Unfortunately we are coming off back to back 19 win seasons and missed NCAA tournaments.

UC has been to 9 straight (last year would have been 10).

I think the future is bright at both schools however. Great for the city.

Yeah hard typing on phone. UC gets there but have made it past the first weekend one time in last 10 years. They are currently trending down but I know you are excited about our muskies. Interesting UC coaching staff was a little concerned that TENN only played one game and not enough video on them. I thought the advantage was to play more games.
