Re: DePaul Game Thread
Dante Jackson did the post game interview. Steele looked fried at the end of the game. Not a lot of talent along with a rookie coach is not a combo for success. He needs three more years to turn this thing around. Not certain he can but it will take 3 more seasons of recruiting. I don't see us going .500 next couple of years!!

Re: DePaul Game Thread
Really? I thought he played pretty well. Actually, I like what I've seen from him over the previous six games. Gives me hope he'll regain his form from his sophomore year in 20-21. He is a very good, all around defender. He only scored 3 points on 5 shots, but had no turnover and 5 boards. I prefer it much more to Naji's selfish play of forcing up 28 foot threes, going zero for eight (6-16 overall), and turning it over five times. He''s so damn good on defense, but for the sake of himself and X's program, it may be best if he goes to the League. If Miller or Mack were here, I'd want him to stay. They could manage him. Well, maybe just Miller. Mack let Lyons run rogue as well.

When the team doesn't run a structured offense, the result is a bunch of out of rhythm threes, often by the worst hooters. Ain't a coincidence.muskieman wrote: ↑Wed Mar 11, 2020 11:38 pmthey missed 10 threes in the second half. No one to blame but them. X finishing this year was like DePaul was this year except DePaul may have finished tonight.Anti-Homer wrote: ↑Wed Mar 11, 2020 11:28 pmI'd have Free foul Butz as soon as they come down the court. 48% shooter from the line. If X loses, it would be fitting that another 28 foot three from Marshall was a big reason why. Unbelievable! They let 11 seconds run off the clock!

Yea,
That was Donny Marshall. When an orchestra doesn't play in sync, I think it's the conductor's responsibility, no?

Re: DePaul Game Thread
I think 90-95% of coaches in the NCAA would take their chances with this roster. Considering they were a consensus preseason Top 25 Team, and had the most players along with Nova on the all conference teams, I respectfully disagree.joeabe wrote: ↑Thu Mar 12, 2020 12:31 amDante Jackson did the post game interview. AH you are probably correct......coaching could be an issue. I just did not see any improvement over the season...the same darn mistakes.

Re: DePaul Game Thread
So Naji is blaming his POOR play on the coaching? i see. that makes perfect sense. is that what causes him to dribble so high and turn it over? Poor coaching? is that what causes him to throw ridiculous passes that turn into turnovers? Poor coaching?
i don't buy it and if that's what he's saying, good riddance. that's NOT how your supposed "leader" should be speaking after a loss.
i probably should stay off this board for a few days as it's not going to be fun to be on here at all.
only solace i take in the loss is that maybe they will just cancel the NCAA tourney. can't NOT make the dance if they don't HAVE the dance, right?
