sean miller.......not exactly the next john wooden? wooden is my coaching idol..he walked 5' from us to his seat @ wooden classic, X vs. purdue.. an honor to see him..won 1st of many ncaa's 1963..1st year @ ucla? 1948! not Instant Genius! with great assistant staff, began to win and had the pick of all-americans from the u.s. on his roster..pac10 programs lost all their great players to ucla, not to mention alcindor, nyc, across the country..great players and programs not as widespread as today, it's hard to compare eras..could rupp coach in today's game? miller will continue to improve the program..he has a great staff, recruiting will spead from this region, and he'll be the best coach of all @ X..with the help of those before him...he'll continue to bring quality players, quality people to Xavier, as the university mandates! and i think he'll lead us to.....................THE PROMISE LAND!

Lets first clarify that while the XU boosters may not collect as much as boosters at other comparable schools, those schools also don't have the seat license requirement that we do. XU collects FAR more in seat license fees than any A10 school does through its boosters. And for the record, I'm happy to pay the seat license fees on 6 seats in Premium I.

And I'll say once again that Sean Miller will become the winningest head coach in XU history. I'll bet my 'hundreds of thousands per year' on it, right XUGrad?

I'll 2nd that 84...I'll bet your 100'ks...some programs would trade their coach and starting 5 for sean....great bball IQ, very smart, and he's real! he'$ comfortable here, bball coach at a bbal u, in a bball conference..

Last time I checked it was not my job to give money to keep a coach here, that is the job of the administration.

Ok. Then just sit back with your arms folded and complain that "Xavier can't keep a coach." Way to just give up. That's real productive. Then you'll be the first to jump ship and criticize if the basketball program goes down.

Look, man. Either you support your school, or you don't. Xavier is private. It depends on alumni giving for almost everything it tries to accomplish, not just basketball.

Marquette gets about 5 times the money to their booster club than XU does. The booster club- All for One, gives all their money directly TO the Adminstration to help pay the coach and others. Tom Crean makes almost $2 million a year. It can be done at schools like XU but only if the school's alumni actually try.

Changing the subject a little, last night I read that Xavier only beat one really good team, Indiana. The victories over UC, UVA, Kansas state and Auburn were by implication considered wins over mediocre teams etc., etc.,
I think Wednesday night, our rpi took a bit of a jump with UC's serious smack down of West Virginia and Kansas State's shocking of Kansas. Also, I see where UMass and Dayton both won.
Makes me think Sean's a pretty good coach. And wasn't the look in Huggie's face at game's end wonderful. And that suit and shoes. Ugh

On an RPI basis, that's somewhat correct, Q. UVA's #110, UC's #113 and Auburn's #122. None of those fall within the "good" win parameters (top 25/50 wins) of the RPI.

That having been said, X's dominating UVA, K-State and Auburn was a big boost for the team, and gave X great national pub.

As to the UC win, the 'Cats were bad when we played them, and we played down to their level. UC is now playing a lot better, and so our win looks a lot better now than it did then.

The KSU game the announcers said they thought the Xavier loss for KSU was an aberration. If KSU continues success it only helps X.

As uc comes more to prominence they will talk of their early season loss to X which will help uc and X in the long run.

Based on the record, they're probably right. Since the loss to us, KSU has won 6 straight, including wins over #4 Kansas and #32 Texas A&M, and at #27 Oklahoma .

You ought to think about what you are saying. There are currently several outstanding coaches in college basketball. I can't think of a single one who is perfect.
