Thanks for the article. Yes, with revenue sharing, the TOP teams will be 8 figures. However, it remains to be seen how much they actually spend. Football will remain king, especially for schools like OSU, Texas, Ala, & Michigan. OSU supposedly spent around $3.5 M NIL, Wisky $3.5 NIL, Iowa less, and Texas $4M. I have consistently heard X had a budget in the $3.5 - 4M NIL, and that will also increase with rev sharing. These aren't official statistic, but the figures I posted for X are from several sources.

Think about it. X had enough NIL for McKnight's replacement to redshirt for a year. Supposedly, there was a little hangup in the Miller-TX negotiations bc he wanted more NIL than was being allocated. I assume he got it or at least came close.

Anti -homer I think this is correct.$4.53 million
He sat out the 2021-2022 season before being hired for a second time by Xavier. Last season he was given a contract extension by Xavier through the 2028-2029 season at a base salary of $4.53 million. His buyout is about $2 million.4 hours ago
What's the source? I'd be surprised if that amount was achievable even with bonuses. I could see a total package in the $3.5M range. I hope it's true. I've seen several lists of what coaches get paid, and Miller never appeared in the top 50. Also, the latter is hard to verify for coaches at private institutions.

A sport's director for a local station in Charleston posted an itinerary for NetJets Aviation showing a flight from Charleston which left at 7:09 pm and landed at Lunken at 8:39 pm. Of course, it could just be a coincidence, and he even stated that, but interesting timing. I tried to copy/paste the link, but accidentally advanced the thread, and can't find it.

Also, I can neither confirm nor deny if Muskieman dispatched me to pick up said passenger with our Moderator stretch limo.

I know some of you don't like it, but I do, assuming it happens. Safe choice, proven winner, Cincy roots (wife pulled him away for browner pastures), and someone who certainly has a network of recruiting ties nationally, considering his time at X and Louisville. GC obviously knows time is of the essence.

Their fan base is melting down a bit on X - Twitter.

Has a university ever rehired two coaches who left for "greener pastures"???... Why wouldn't Mack jump ship when the next best job appear???... Is Thad Matta available???... I'd bet Butler may help him pack... Dan

Ya know, if a great player left and wanted back, i.e. Desmond Claude, would you take him? Yes for me.

If Jesse Bates wants to come back to the Bengals after his contract expires with the Falcons, would you take him.? Yes for me.

I could care less about the optics. I think he stays, but even if another top 10 program comes calling and he bolts, as long as he leaves the program in better shape than when he arrived, I'd be fine with it, especially in this era, where one can build a successful team overnight via the portal (i.e. W VA, Louisville, Texas Tech, Michigan).

I would say the either Murray or Mack are fine with me. I've forgiven Mack for checking out early on us, while having one of our better teams ever. His wife wanted to go home and it is what it is. Mack had some of the better teams ever and was open to different defenses and had great out of bounds plays. We pulled Miller out of coaching purgatory gave him the keys to the program and he has said to many sources this is his home, blah blah blah. Three years ago Miller understood the portal and we would not have the advantage of large state school with NIL. He got greedy and now we have trouble fielding a competitive. What a snake. Swain is gone for sure and I hear Conwell as well even though it would be his fourth school in four years.

What if Xavier just hired Sean Miller and then Chris Mack and then Travis Steele in succession over and over and over again until the sun explodes
Steele still lives in Cincinnati.
The emotional highs and lows of this past week are pretty incredible. Unfortunately thats Xavier basketball in March and probably always will be

I just watched an ad for "ALL IN," and as the coach "who will not be named spoked," spoke about being "ALL IN" it made me sick to my stomach.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

I guess the Buick housed in the A-10 garage that was redesigned and moved into the Big East garage was not enough to win a national championship! Oh, what kind of car is Connecticut or Villanova? Could it be the driver?

My first XU game in the 3rd grade was in 1956. I’ve been bleeding blue ever since. This last week was very disappointing but after a few nights I am getting over it and life goes on. Control what I can control. My tennis and golf games will never get better but I still play them and enjoy the time out and the beer after. My 18+ XU games are the same (only the beer comes first)

Reality is, we cannot believe what a coach says. Recruits have to understand that, as well.

It’s taken 70 years, but my conclusion or realization is ….Let’s make it simple. Enjoy the excitement, experiences, atmosphere and the beer. As Tom Petty put it “…most things I worry about never happen anyway.” Good words to live by.

Keep dreaming Sean, and Bob, Skip, Pete, Thad, Chris.
