I think you and I are watching two entirely different teams. They've gotten down by 16 and 22 points at home to two inferior teams the last couple of weeks and you believe that is the ONLY red flag??

Every great team has an Achilles heel, and X's is defense right now. However, Nova got pummeled at Butler, Duke lost to BC, and every other team has had their issues. This is the 1st team at X I believe can compete with any other, and has a chance to compete for a NC. The fact that they've been able to win despite some inconsistency shown from both Tre and JP speaks volume about their balance and talent level. In previous years, X would have had 3-4 losses by now.

Those who expect perfection will always be disappointed. The key is to constantly strive for that unattainable perfection.

Who is talking about perfection? This isn't one game like Duke losing at BC. There has been a troubling trend for over two weeks now, and if the competition were a bit stiffer in a couple of games, they would have 3 losses by now. Why do you guys seem to want ignore these warning signs? I don't consider myself "spoiled", just not wanting to accept the lackluster performances we've seen too much of lately.

Why? Because of your last sentence...”just not wanting to accept the lackluster performances we’ve seen to much of lately.” Like you or we can do ANYTHING about it. We can’t. It is what it is. These are college KIDS, playing a GAME, and they are going to have periods where they don’t PLAY it as well as they can. Most people understand that, even if we don’t like it. We also understand that EVERY team goes through these SAME periods and problems. We also understand that it’s not that important how well or how bad they are playing NOW, it’s important how well they are playing in a couple of months. Xavier IS going to LOSE some games between now and then. There ARE going to look LOUSY doing it. They might even win some games and look lousy at the same time. Know what? WE can’t do anything about it. We aren’t the coaches or the players or their parents or their teachers or even their friends. We are just fans. Just enjoy the show for what it is. Accept it for what it is. And when they lose, accept that for what it is. It won’t be the end of the world and it won’t be the end of the season. It won’t mean anything other than that they lost a game. When they turn the ball over, or shoot badly, or look lost on defense, or fail to hustle. Let the coaches worry about it. That’s what they get paid to do. You worry about the things you can do something about.

You’re asking us to worry about somethings that we can’t do anything about. You’re also asking us to worry about things that can be fixed by others. Why?

Our perimeter defense and the ability to stop quick guards does scare me about this team. Making 4 of 22 3’s doesnt help either.
