Six turnovers and several others play he probably deserved turnovers but was saved by his teammates catching bad passes. I like his hustle and athleticism, but Goodin is not a point guard. Xavier is lost trying to run an offense with him at the point. Bernard makes good decisions. Play him at the point. What is there to lose at this point? Xavier has lost five straight games. Is anyone really believing this team can lose it's final 8 games of the season and still get an NCAA bid?mumuskie87 wrote:BU came in expecting to win. X was just hoping.
Baldwin clearly out shined Goodin - he had 3 assists, 5 steals, 1 block and 0 TO's.
Goodin had 7 assists but 6 TO's.

JP, Tre, and Bernard all turned the ball over on consecutive possessions. Mack has to figure out a way to eliminate all the dribbling at the end of games. Hard to believe we went 5 possessions without a shot, not a recipe for winning. Mack looked like a deer in the headlights again. At least we are better than we were in the 70's, well kind of

I don't think we have as much talent as you think. Sumner is probably the one guy we could least afford to lose. Throw in the Myles affair and you have this debacle.X4LIFE wrote:I go back and forth with my feelings after a loss. Frustrated, aggravated then hopeful, optimistic. But, it is hard to believe freshman or not, Goodin can't play better and to think that the loss of one player, with the talent X has, can lead to this is incredible to me. I am beginning to feel Mack has no clue what to do. If he did I think we would have won 2 of the past 5 losses at least.

Does anybody know about the Myles affair? I never read anything on this board about his having off court prooblems in his 4 earlier years at X?

Re: Butler Game Thread 2-26-17
Mack told the team at the under 8:00 timeout...."we need to win the next four minutes". Suffice to say, they did not. This team plays small at all the wrong times. They cannot stand prosperity, to say nothing of being able to protect the ball at critical times. They win the rebounding battles--but give up three second chance shots in a possession, up by 2 points. They shoot 90% form the line, except when they are leading or losing by 2 point or less.
Hope they get into the dance, but the 8/9 seed they get (unless they start in Dayton) will be a disappointment.

are you AT the games or just watching on TV? if you're AT the games, do you just watch Mack the whole time and not even watch the actual players and what they're doing? if you're watching on TV, how could you possibly even know this?skyhops wrote:JP, Tre, and Bernard all turned the ball over on consecutive possessions. your "deer in headlights" reference is getting old and doesn't even apply. as usual, you are REACHING to make a comment to downgrade Mack and it's pretty much getting old.
players have to step and make plays in crunch time. ours didn't. how many timeouts can Mack call and say to the players "don't turn the ball over"?
