The only thing that worries me about this opportunity is the fact that Bobinski is there. Having said that I am not sure of their relationship and Mack's relationship with Greg Christopher.

Speaking of Christopher, there has been nothing but silence from Purdue on their search for a new AD since the initial article which included Christopher as a high candidate.

Curious why Steele keeps whiffing on these opportunities?

I think it's because he's an assistant and these are head coaching positions. Wky has a nice program and i don't think/know if Travis has any lineage in that part of the college bball world. It's a gamble taking an assistant. I'll be curious to see if Bobinski interviews Kelsey if he whiffs on the bigger guys like Mack, etc. Mike is a smart guy, he generally has a plan. I think he knows he can't unload and pay both Gregory and Hewitt and miss on a candidate. However, it's not inconceivable he had no choice. Fball money is a luxury.

The fact that Kelsy did not jump, immediately on Wright St, Drexel, SLU, etc might suggest early contact w/ Bobo. Gregory may have been doomed for awhile as Bobo waited to season's end to publicize the action. As Bobo is a bit out on the proverbial limb, may he have had the plan in place from the outset ? I doubt Oliver Purnell was contacted.

I'd say Bobo just couldn't wait to get rid of an ex UD guy.
Just kidding!!

Maybe because he is John Groce's (Illinois) half-brother?

Kevin Stallings to Pitt. I think,he was on the hot seat at Vanderbilt. I'm thinking CM is staying. I guess he would be a candidate if Pitino leaves. Surely not Georgia Tech!!!
If he ever thought about leaving I would think he would wait for a big time job such as Duke or UNC. I think X is one of top 20. Of course sometimes money talks.

Trying to think of 20 programs as highly thought of as X in no particular order:
UK
UNC
Duke
UVA
Maryland
U Conn
Syracuse
OU
Texas
Wisconsin
IU
Florida
Louisville
Ucla
Arizona
MSU
OSU
Villanova
Oregon
Michigan
Kansas
(I know that is more than 20)
Others to be considered: Gonzaga, Uc, ND, Butler. Texas A and M, West Virginia

its not like Kelsey can just "jump" on these jobs and their his for the taking. Let's be realistic.

also, i hear he's going hard after the James Madison job.

we shall see.
