Re best regular seasons, don't leave out 2002-2003. 3 seed and had David West. He's our best player ever and it's not close. His 15-year NBA career confirms what we got to see in college.

I'm cautious as well. I am relieved to see Steele mix up defenses. But Hunter has got to become the 8th or 9th man. Start Freemantle and Nunge, and bring Miles in as a defensive stopper. Use Odom and Kunkel first off the bench. The Big East road and Villanova - how do we compete? The next week will be everything!
I've been harsh on Hunter with his treys, but his defensive versatility at 6'8", along with Jones, Scruggs, and Johnson, gives X 4 perimeter players with length, making it hard to create mismatches. Jay Wright has exploited this against X particularly with Treyvon. Can't do it this year. As long as he is judicious with his treys, as he was Sat., I like seeing him getting plenty of minutes. None of our guys should play more than 30 min if possible.

High point man tonight against Morehead (your favorite University) 15 points 6 rebounds 4 assists and a few tipped balls... 2-4 from three....I'd like that line every game.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Hunter is incredibly important to X and should start. He needs to limit deep shots but he is a big reason X is having a great year.

There have been other recent years with X having 5 or 6 double digit scorers so this team is not completely different from those teams. It is too early to assume X is going deep in the tourney. Lots of wins against mediocre talent but some legit wins too. The BE will confirm our hope or will prove TS has not grown into the job. There is no doubt the talent is there. X should finish top 3 in BE. Anything less is inexcusable unless of course injury issues.

This team has the potential to win the BE and make a deep tourney run. They need to solve the TO issue and need to limit bad shots but the talent is there. The team attitude is there. The defensive intensity is there. The question is how they will react when adversity strikes. Will they play selfish, desperate or will they trust in one another?

Yes, a final four contender! We will get a better idea over the next three weeks. West was outstanding as a forward. Steve Thomas was the Stephon Curry of Xavier. Not many alumni are left that saw him play. 30 or more points a game was very common. Xu has had many great individual players in its history. Yes, we had teams with several shooters and teams with three or four double digit average scoring, but no previous team that has the quality depth ("nine starters") with all the necessary ingredients and backup. This team is not "person dependent" but "team dependent."

David West had 49 against Dayton
No, he had 47. Only one to score more was Steve Thomas with 50 against Detroit on January 4, 1964, when the three-point shot did not exist.
Mark Twain was wrong. Golf is NOT a good walk spoiled. It is a shared personal experience in a majestic wonderland guided by God, whose name is called frequently during the round.

That was the year Steve also scored 40 against them in Detroit and 45 in the Gardens against UC when we lost by 2 points.

A good win over Marquette even though our team offensive statistics were at low. Turnovers were also at a low in spite of M.'s defense. A lot of upside yet in team as they continue to get healthy and mold.

This team has as much talent as the 2018 team and more ways to beat you.I think 7 different players have led the team in scoring already and 2 guys have put up 30.Has X ever had 2 30 point scorers in one season?

Sorry, this team has more overall talent than 18 team, more depth, more height, a smothering defense, greater speed, and an upside for better shooting!

I think the current roster has more guard strength, but the 17-18 roster had more in the front court. The common denominator is Paul Scruggs. Hard to believe that he’s been here that long.
