UC winning is news. Xavier winning is not news. Man bites dog. Dog bites man.

Who the hell reads the newspaper anymore, anyway? The internet, folks. That's where you get the new news... The Enquirer has an entire page dedicated to XU coverage. And th best thing about it is that you don't have to see word one about the Bearcats except during the week of the Crosstown Shootout:

Look at it this way folks, Xavier is a NATIONAL PROGRAM, and gets much more coverage nationally, and frankly, has for some time, even during some of the Hug years. ESPN, Sporting News, SI, they all know about us and write about us.
The Enquirer is never gonna change, nor the TV and especially the radio stations. Just think, once the NCAA starts, you will all have to listen to pre season baseball instead of tourney games, and should we make the Final Four, it will probably be pre empted by Opening day.

Xavier second class in Cincinnati, but big time Nationally.

If UC has 250,000 local alums, they drew a whopping 3.1% (7884) to the game last night. Factor in the students at the game and it is probably more like 2.5%. Way to back your team.

I actually still read 3-4 newspapers per day. I just can't get used to having breakfast while I try to scan my laptop for news.

For the Butler moron, why don't you check our schedule, We're hardly playing the Little Sisters of the Poor. An no offense to the nuns, they do great work!

I agree that until X makes the Final Four, UC will always get the press but having the game end at 10 as opposed to 9 has nothing to do with us not getting the headline. Its all about respect for the program, and locally we're the Rodney Dangerfields of college basketball.

When you are a mid majoe newspaper you tend to get it wrong most of the time.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

I actually think UK gets more space in the Enquirer than X. And I know, they have more alums in the area when you take into account the northern Kentucky readers.

Yea 84, Butler plays a mean schedule Detroit, Green Bay, Milwaukee & Florida Gulf Coast. Xavier could win the NCAA tourney and the story would still be at the bottom of the page below the article explaining why UC got the shaft and didn't make the tourney. Xavier always has got the short end of the stick with the enquirer that will never change. But what do you expect from a newspaper that thinks Hillary is good for communism... I mean the country.

X needs to hire Chad Johnson as their press secretary. He obviously knows what he's doing, at least in the PR area, as long as you consider any press good press. How much you want to bet that if X loses a game it will make headlines even if the game finishes at midnight???
