Re: Providence game thread
when I saw Jeff Anderson as ref I thought how will he try and make an impact on the game?
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Why was Jack back in with under a minute in the half?

They had to do something. 1 point in the last 4:37. 19 point lead cut to 9. Momentum with Providence and the crowd will become a factor. When Kunkel’s offense is off it’s really off. Big offensive half for Boum.

Re: Providence game thread
Providence cut the lead by 13 in the last six, and two things changed momentum:
1. Cooley went to zone, like Creigton did against MQuette the other night and help them scoreless for 7 minutes, though they ultimately lost.
2. Miller's lack of understanding on neutralizing mismatches (anyone being guarded by Edwards and Kunkel are huge mismatches for the opponent), and protecting others from getting into foul trouble. I suspect Miller will go zone after Hunter, Nunge, Jones, and Boum foul out. First game this year his predecessor would have outcoached him.

Re: Providence game thread
Don't know why Nunge was in at the end. Missing the front end of 1 and 1's is not good. Kunkel was really struggling. Maybe his worst half of the year. Edwards did some good things but needs to finish .Claude was very good. The guards ( Boum and Kunkel ) need to put some ball pressure on their man. They allow the guards to make easy entry passes to Croswell. We need to keep going to the basket.. Hope we play smart early in the 2nd half. Go X.

Re: Providence game thread
the bet is now how many players foul out. Refs getting paid by the foul?

Fouls amassing, and Miller asleep at the wheel.Kevin Reilly wrote: ↑Wed Mar 01, 2023 7:35 pmDon't know why Nunge was in at the end. Missing the front end of 1 and 1's is not good. 2-3 zone didn't stop Providence

Re: Providence game thread
Kunkel has been a step slow on defense all night. Bad time to be playing defense like that.
